Why are so many people throwing Ranked Matches?

It seems that in most of my Ranked Games recently people will just go AFK or not play at all and feed the enemy team, this is very frustrating because Ranked is meant for people who want to rank up and play against better people with similar skill levels yet all my teammates have an ego problem and decide to ruin everyone’s fun on our team
